What Causes An Ear Infection?
First, you should be aware that an ear infection is a bacterial infection. It is very interesting to know that the cause may not be in the ear but in the respiratory system.
- If the upper respiratory infection is bacterial, these same bacterias may spread to the middle ear.
- If the upper respiratory infection is caused by a virus, such as a cold, bacteria may be drawn to the microbe-friendly environment and move into the middle ear as a secondary infection.
Consequently, by any of these two ways, fluid builds up in the eardrum causing the most unwanted, ear infection.

Things To Do---
1. Take enough rest--- Rest is extremely essential. The reason being that rest increase the growth hormone which is also called the repair hormone. It is advisable to read a book, take a hot bath or do some meditation before you go to bed. These tips are to ensure a sound sleep.
2. Intake of fluid--Drinking around 8-10 glasses of water each day is the solution for a healthy body. However, this does not mean you restrict yourself to water. Soups, juices and herbal teas can also be quick relievers.
3. Eating the right food--Fresh fruits, vegetables, protein rich foods like tofu, dry fruits, organic chicken, eggs, flex seeds, etc. can help you alleviate the ear infection.
4. Taking vitamin C, vitamin A, zinc and magnesium in the form of supplement nutrients can be useful.
5. Eating garlic is recommended if you want to do away with the ear infection. If you have pain in the ear you can also follow the following advice. Take 2 tea spoons of olive oil or mustard oil and add 1 clove of garlic, heat it and allow it to cool just above the body temperature. Then, put 3-4 drops of this oil in the ear to relieve the person from the pain. The use of garlic in the process is attributed to its antibacterial properties.
6. It should also be noted that an ear infection could also be a result of our allergies to one or the other thing. Hence, an allergy test is recommended if one feels that this is a frequent problem and seek a medical advice.
Things To Avoid--
1. Avoid intake of tea. coffee alcohol and soft drinks as much as possible.
2. Eating junk and/or spicy food can aggravate your problem.
3. Indulging in extreme physical activities or staying awake for long hours.
4. Walking in the cold with inadequate protection.
